The clinic is doing very well, with the naturopaths-in-training Dani and Jean-Louis impressed by the results of the treatments. The steady clinic is based at Dani and Jean-Louis’ house, where a few people come by each week. The stream of people is slowly increasing, as the patients from the old clinic location in Carrefour Feuille have found out where the clinic is now, and whenever there are no shootings flock to receive treatment. On those days, there are about 100 people per day. Otherwise, Dani and Jean-Louis continue the clinic outreach program on Sundays after service in different churches, and Dani includes the naturopathic treatments in her work as a teacher for handicapped children and at an orphanage. Jinpa’s regular classes in homeopathy and naturopathy continue. As always, all treatments at the clinic are free in this poor country in which all other health care costs money!
The gangs have established themselves as the new government in whichever part of Port-au-Prince they rule. This means that there are less shootings and violence, a welcome reprieve to those who live there. Ports are open again and the fresh supplies we have sent have arrived.
Great Relief of Chronic Suffering
Thanks to our fabulous donors, the clinic has a ample supply of essential oils and homeopathics which are put to good use. Special thanks for the Gattefosse Foundation and April Eye of Hahnemann Labs for their big donations, as well as for the small donors who spontaneously send us boxes of naturopathic remedies! Here are two homeopathic cases from the training course: Rico, a 32-year-old worker received a severe electrical shock when touching a live wire 10 years ago. Since then, he has increasingly suffered from constant thirst, felt weak and became very skinny, unable to put on weight. Under the guidance of Jinpa, Jean-Louis gave him homeopathic Phosphorus 200 C, a few doses of which helped him regain his original strength and the lost weight within one month.

Helping to the Most Neglected
Dani is the only health care provider in Haiti who will bother to help handicapped people. She volunteers at an organisation for handicapped children. Dani is very excited to see that homeopathy can actually help these youngsters who are neglected in Haitian society. Susanna, a 16 year old mentally and physically handicapped girl was always in a bad mood and with no appetite and constant drooling. She was very disobedient, fighting with her teachers, not speaking in school, when speaking mumbling incomprehensibly and not able to do much independently. Her menstrual bleeding was lasting for months, leaving her very weak. She received homeopathic Pulsatilla 200 C. The prolonged menstrual bleeding stopped after 3 days. Over a few weeks, became a happy, cooperative student, asking questions, very good in class. She changed completely, and even the drooling stopped. She is now joining in the dancing and singing activities. Suzanna is incredibly grateful for the relief, and Dani is thrilled to now have tools which allow her to help the most desperate, as well as to see the children under her care thrive. Suzanna’s mother and family were crying, saying ‘No doctor here has ever even accepted to see my daughter! They say they will not bother, it is a hopeless case anyways. Thank you so much!’

Because of the continuous violence and danger in Haiti, the clinic does have to treat a good amount of injuries and accidents. Dani also gives essential oil massages to the injured people, such as from the common motorcycle accidents. In one case, the man in his 30ties came in limping. He was sent home with the blend of wintergreen, ginger and mint. After four days, he returned to the clinic cured to demonstrate to Jean-Louis how he is back to doing gymnastics. In another case, a girl had fallen off of the motorbike. She could not even carry her bag to school anymore. The oils quickly brought relief. Ginger, wintergreen and mint even cured a doctor whose hand was cramping so badly, he could no longer sleep. To his total surprise, he was cured within three days. In.a different case, one 14 year old girl complained of abdominal pains each evening. She received a blend of essential oils of ginger, thyme, and mint in a vegetable base oil to rub on her belly. The pains disappeared.

In another impressive case, a 12 year old boy with chronic asthma received a chest rub oil with ginger. After three days, he vomited up a large amount of greenish mucous and to everbody’s surprise, the asthma was cured. (Please note that in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda, bringing asthma patients to vomit up mucous is seen as the pivotal moment of cure.) The elderly appreciate a blend of wintergreen and lemon eucalyptus for muscle and rheumatic pains – they are told to rub on the blend before bedtime. Everyone loves the essential oil preparations for their comforting scent. When we asked for feedback, a church congregation sent us a touching video of everyone cured with lavender oil thanking us profusely for sending the oil!
